Love Astrid is jewellery for the brave and vibrant hearted. Each piece is handmade and dyed by me, Astrid, in my studio in the northern suburb of Melbourne.
Bright, light and colourful Astrid aims for each creation to bring their owners a bit of lightheartedness, a dash of playfulness and whole lotta cheerfulness.
I was originally inspired by my love for dancing and colour so began experimenting to create jewellery that represents my personality. This saw the beginning of my signature hand-dyed fringe and tassel designs that glide and dance with the tiniest movement.
I'd like to think that I am a rare designer-maker. Together with my husband I lived and travelled as a maker-on-the-move, living in 20 countries around the world for over 2.5 years. During this time I carried 25kg of materials and tools, making and sending my jewellery from wherever I was. During my travels, I gained inspiration from the cities I lived including, Lyon, Amsterdam, Vienna, Edinburgh and Agadir in Morocco to name a few.
